Friends of the San Francisco Estuary announces a call for artists to submit their work to the State of the San Francisco Estuary Conference Awards Program. The Conference will showcase science and the need to protect and improve the San Francisco Estuary. In an effort to broaden the conversation, the Conference Awards Program encourages artists to submit works that share knowledge, educate, and incite action to protect and improve the Estuary.
Creative Environmental Awards 2019 submissions may include 2D works such as graphic design, drawings, paintings, photographs and collage. Submissions in other media, including short films and performance art (dance, theatre, poetry and music), are also encouraged. For 2D work, please submit a photograph of the art work, and for other media submit a video, both in an easy to access format as to file size and appropriate length for a video.
All submissions will be considered and credited on the Friends of the San Francisco Estuary website, and the first-place winner will receive a $300 check at the Conference. The winner may be asked to display their work (not to exceed 36 x 36 inches), provide a high-resolution photograph, or submit a video (not to exceed 2 minutes, preferably shorter) for presentation at the Conference.
The awards will be based on originality, creativity, and the effectiveness of the message to protect the Estuary.
