Will Geiken

Seagrant Fellow

BIOGRAPHY

Will Geiken is a recent alumnus of the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara, where he studied the Economics and Politics of the Environment with a focus in Strategic Environmental Communication and Media. While in graduate school, Will sought out opportunities to get involved with coastal policy work, which included an internship with the Channel Islands National Park Biosecurity Program. More recently, Will worked as an Assistant Planner for the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Countywide Trails Program to help promote the development of regional trails for county residents. As a California Sea Grant State Fellow with the San Francisco Estuary Partnership, Will looks forward to helping coordinate the State of the Estuary Conference and the inaugural Estuary Youth Council, among other projects. In his free time, Will pursues competitive distance running, mediocre surfing, and the requisite amounts of eating and reading that make those activities possible.
