Opening Night Gala

The 11th Biennial State of the Estuary Conference will kick off Monday, October 28 with an Opening Night Gala sponsored by Cargill at the Oakland Museum of California. Gala participants will be able to:

  • Visit the Museum’s newly opened exhibit:  Above and Below the Bay – Stories from our Changing Bay.[space height=”6″]
  • Mingle in the Museum cafe and outdoor areas while enjoying appetizers and beverages.[space height=”6″]
  • Celebrate the 10-year anniversary of South Bay wetlands work by the South Bay Salt Ponds Restoration, and 20 years of Bay-wide restoration since the completion of the San Francisco Estuary Partnership’s Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan.[space height=”18″]

Time:   5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Attire:  Business Attire

Registration:  The gala is included as part of the conference registration.  Attendees must sign-up for the gala on the conference registration form and register by the pre-registration deadline of October 23rd. 

Directions

The Museum (Oak and 10th Street)  is seven blocks from the State of the Estuary Conference facilities at the Oakland Marriott City Center (Broadway and 11th Street).  Enter the facility from Oak Street using the wheelchair access ramp, or from the Parking Garage.  The event will be held on Level 2.  The Oak Street entrance is on Level 3 and parking will be available on Levels 1 and 2.

Driving:  Underground parking garage is accessed from Oak Street between 10th and 12th streets. Parking will cost $5. 

BART:  The museum is conveniently located one block from the Lake Merritt BART station (between 8th and 9th streets at Oak Street).  Take the Fremont train from the conference hotel (12 Street/City Center BART station) to the Lake Merritt BART Station.
