San Leandro Treatment Wetland

San Leandro Treatment Wetland

for Pollution Reduction, Habitat Enhancement and Shoreline Resiliency

The purpose of this project is to convert a 4.3-acre wastewater storage basin adjacent to City of San Leandro’s Water Pollution Control Plant to an integrated treatment wetland, habitat enhancement, and sea level rise adaptation project. An additional objective is to develop a shoreline resiliency and tidal marsh restoration vison for the surrounding area.

First Steps

getting there

Funds from the Restoration Authority (Measure AA) were awarded to advance engineering designs, consult on environmental permits, complete California Environmental Quality Act review, and kick-start a shoreline resiliency and tidal marsh restoration vison for the surrounding area.
